          Phone scam reminder
          We have received reports from members that they are receiving calls from someone threatening to disconnect their power if they did not receive immediate payment. The calls appear to be from Clay Electric and use the co-op's phone number. We do not make phone calls to collect on past due bills, and we do not require payment via a prepaid debit card.
          Please be very suspicious of anyone who calls and claims to represent us and wants to be paid for an overdue bill or service. If you ever have any doubts about a phone call from someone claiming to represent Clay Electric, hang up and call 1-800-224-4917. Do not call the number the person on the phone gives you or the number shown on Caller ID. While you might not be one to fall for something like this, others might, so it's important to let your friends and family know.
