West Gadsden Historical Society, Inc. owns and operates the Greensboro Depot Railroad Museum located at 115 Duffle Avenue and the Dezell House Museum at 328 East 8th Street, both in Greensboro, FL. The Dezell House was placed on the National Register of Historic Places May 10, 2006 and serves as the headquarters of the West Gadsden Historical Society. The Society publishes a newsletter four times each year and hosts events to raise funds in order to complete the historical restoration and renovation of the Dezell House.West Gadsden Historical Society, Inc. owns and operates the Greensboro Depot Railroad Museum located at 115 Duffle Avenue and the Dezell House Museum at 328 East 8th Street, both in Greensboro, FL. Numerous historical items, documents, maps, letters, and photographs have become part of our large collection. Railroad related items only are exhibited at the Greensboro Depot while other materials are stored or displayed at the Dezell House. WGHS has 200 members who receive a quarterly newsletter as well as a 10% discount on all merchandise purchases. A website and a facebook page are maintained by the Society. Information requests are received, researched and answered by our directors. There is no paid staff. Everything is accomplished by volunteers. Funds to finance the organization and its work come from membership dues, voluntary donations and sales of books, t-shirts and other items.
