Additional Information for Hartford Title & Trust

In February of 2020 Better Business Bureau serving Connecticut (BBB) opened an investigation to review the business practices of Hartford Title & Trust after receiving information from the Better Business Bureau Serving Wisconsin. Specifically, BBB looked into claims that the company may be involved in a timeshare buying scam as a consumer reported a separate  business had contacted him with a purported  buyer for his timeshare. The  business claimed to need a large sum of money upfront  to cover fees for  paperwork, and designated Hartford Title and Trust as the financial institution to create a trust for the purpose of the real estate sale. Because of the request for funds, in addition to indications that Hartford Title and Trust weren’t where they claimed to be, the consumer reached out to BBB. 

As of March 18 2020, there has been no response from Hartford Title & Trust to BBB’s calls and emails. Further, BBB verified with the property management company that the business is not operating out of their purported location at One Financial Plaza The Gold Building 755 Main Street, Hartford, CT 06103. As of March 18, 2020 their site is still active.

Based on the information detailed above, BBB cannot confirm the legitimacy of Hartford Title & Trust.
