The following describes a government action that has been resolved by either a settlement or a decision by a court or administrative agency. If the matter is being appealed, it will be noted below.
On December 21, 2023, the State of Minnesota Department of Commerce and Uqual, LLC entered into a Consent Order.
The Commissioner has advised Uqual, LLC (Respondent) that she is prepared to commence formal action pursuant to Minn. Stat. § 45.027 (2022), and other applicable law, based on the allegations that Respondent engaged in unregistered credit services organization activity in violation of Minn. Stat. § 332.54 (2022).
The Order states:
Respondent shall refund all monies received from Minnesota consumers during the period of January 1, 2023, to present date. The refunds to Minnesota consumers shall be made within 6 months of signing this order.
Respondent shall cease and desist from violating any laws, rules, or orders related to the duties and responsibilities entrusted to the Commissioner under Minnesota Statutes Chapter 332.
