BBB was prompted to make this request due to consumer inquiries regarding billing practices as related to insurance coverage, licensing of clinicians, as well as reports of adverse side-effects/reactions following treatments.
On January 29th BBB sent a letter to Just Quit Laser Therapy with a request for answers to the following questions:
Are your treatments eligible for most consumers’ insurance plans?
Are your billing practices available in writing for consumers to review in order to make informed decisions before proceeding with treatments?
Are consumers required to provide medical prescriptions for services?
Is your pricing policy fully disclosed and discussed with clients prior to treatment?
Are invoices provided in a timely manner, and are discrepancies between quotes and invoices clearly explained?
Are refusals of benefits coverage by insurance providers fully disclosed prior to the commencement if treatment?
Do you have standard procedures in place to monitor the well-being of patients following treatment and before they leave the office in order to advise them of potential adverse reactions?
On February 11th, 2019, BBB sent a follow up letter requesting a response to our letter of January 29th.
As of March 11, 2019, BBB has not received a response. If a response is received from Just Quit Laser Therapy, BBB will update this record with a summary of the information provided.
BBB advises consumers to conduct their own research before undergoing laser treatment for the cessation of smoking or for weight loss.

Experts on smoking cessation state that there are no confirmed clinical studies from reputable sources supporting the effectiveness of stop-smoking laser treatment. As such, it is considered to be a potentially expensive alternative treatment. It is sometimes recommended, however, that patients use it in conjunction with other methods like behavioral therapy or with nicotine replacement products.
